Volunteer Job Description
Volunteers are vital to the success of Sierra Music Society. Acting as ambassadors for SierraMusic Society, our volunteers plan, organize and participate in programs and events offered by the company. Listed below are volunteer opportunities and requirements.
Volunteers on the amici Committee assist with membership drive and marketing events. They also plan the annual Applause Dinner which recognizes our yearly donors.
Volunteers for amici must be positive, friendly, courteous, and possess good people skills as well as good organizational skills.
Performance Planning Committee
Volunteers on the Performance Planning Committee plan the annual performance events for P’Opera!and SierrAcappella. These events include anything from private parties to restaurant series to Reno Artown.
Volunteers for the Performance Planning Committee need to be creative and possess good communication skills, as well as good organizational skills.
Marketing, Membership & Communication Committee
Volunteers on the Marketing, Membership & Communication Committee work with various medias to promote our performances and special events. Social media and print media are both avenues of contacts for the community.
Volunteers for the Marketing, Membership & Communication Committee need to be well organized and possess writing and editing skills.
Educational Outreach Committee
Volunteers on the Educational Outreach Committee will assist in promoting music education in schools by introducing exposure to classical music, reinforcing interest through live performances, and help develop future audiences with the Children’s Storybook Opera Theatre.
Volunteers for the Educational Outreach Committee must enjoy limited interactions with children and possess good communication skills.
